This is a Sponsored Post in association with ST~GERMAIN
Last night I attended the VIP launch of the glorious Maison ST~GERMAIN in Soho Square. I wasn’t quite sure if I’d find it – Soho Square has all sorts of curious buildings but, as it turned out, it wasn’t hard to find…
The lovely Emily, the florist behind June in March, the floral company responsible for interpreting the St Germain ethos in flowers, has, frankly, nailed it. Romantic, delicate, elegant, chic, blousy in all the right ways, the exterior – and – interior are a mass of scabious, dahlias, lisianthus, hydrangeas, love-in-the-mist (nigella), roses, and cornflowers. Wherever you look, there is something pretty to admire, from the ceilings to the flower wall. It’s Instagram crack. And it’s open to the public from today – all details at the bottom of the post.
The charming waiters serve the classic ST~GERMAIN Cocktail (St-Germain, sparkling water, sparkling wine, lemon twist) on entrance, and I took one, before heading straight into Emily’s beautiful pop up floristry shop (it’ll be open for the duration of the Maison).
They will be conducting floristry lessons all week too. You can also pick up a floral corsage, or have a temporary real flower tattoo attached.
The Ground Floor Bar & Floral Wall
Then I headed further in to check out the flower wall, and the ground floor bar, with its jazz band.
Then it was upstairs, via a flower-clad staircase (do check out my Instagram Stories for the films of the interior), to the pop-up speakeasy, accessed behind a rather glamorous velvet curtain.
Here you’ll find an exclusive collection of ST~GERMAIN Cocktails, crafted by their global brand ambassador, Camille Ralph Vidal. You’ll also be able to learn how to make your favourite cocktail.
It was hard to decide between the three complex and delicious-sounding drinks, designed by Camille. In the end my drinking companion chose the Abeille, and myself the Labytrinthe.
The Abeille is a twist on the Old Fashioned, and contains ST-GERMAIN, beeswax-infused Dewar’s whisky and Angostura Bitters.
The Labytrinthe contains kaffir line-infused ST-GERMAIN, Tequila CAZADORES Blanco, NOILLY DRY Vermouth, fresh lime juice, and Chartreuse. A small but perfectly formed drink.
