I’ve been thinking recently about the many wonderful things have happened to me as a result of my LibertyLondonGirl journey over the past ten years. I don’t always flag them up on here or on my social platforms for reasons I’ll be talking about soon on a post I’ve been germinating for a while but inside I am always fizzing with excitement.
I’ve been written about in publications around the world from The New York Times to The South China Morning Post and, as a direct result of the blog, have been included for two years running in The Evening Standard‘s Power1000: London’s Most Influential People list. I won Blogger of the Year at Red‘s Women of the Year awards, and Best Fashion Twitter Feed in Marie Claire‘s Global Online Awards, and was thrilled when was LibertyLondonGirl was named as One of the 100 Top Websites in the World by both The Sunday Times and The Australian.
But I can tell you that nothing beats being recognised by your peers – they’re the most critical of all because they really know their stuff, so when I was asked to be the covergirl and main interview for the second issue of Blogosphere Magazine, a fantastic – and enormously successful – publication designed to highlight and support independent bloggers and their sites, masterminded by the brilliant founder and editor-in-chief Alice Audley, I was ecstatic, properly chuffed. Being part of the blogging community is an extraordinary thing, and being hailed within it meant the world. (I wrote about it here.)
This year I was asked to be a judge at the 2017 Blogosphere Awards and I thought you might like to see the list of worthy winners in their categories. If they’re half as excited as I was to be recognised by Blogosphere then they must be beside themselves. And extra huge congratulations to Hannah Gale who, as our Blogger of the Year, will get her very own cover shoot and feature too, following in the footsteps of previous cover stars, including Zoella, Dina Tokio, Estee Lalonde, Lily Pebbles, Joe Sugg, and, erm, me.
