A few months ago the London dog outfitters LoveMyDog got in touch and asked if they could send Lettice a present. Imagine my surprise when the most beautiful Harris tweed dog carrier arrived for my over-indulged sausage dog.
Lettice absolutely loves the carrier, which we use as a travelling dog bed, as well as a wonderful way of transporting her around the city, on trains and in the car. We’ve got to know the lovely Lilly Shahravesh who runs Lovemydog since then and, when she asked if Lettice and Maisie (my sister’s Wire-Haired Dachshund) would like to be dog models for her new range, how could we refuse?
I was in Venice when the shoot took place, but my sister took our furbabies down for their moments of glory, where they also joined my friend Lauren’s Frenchie Matilda on set. I’d love to report that Lettice was a perfect dog model, but I gather that her skills do not reach to staying put for long. Maisie, on the other hand, was apparently a perfect poppet.
We thought it might be fun to give you a behind the scenes look at what exactly happens on a dog photo shoot, so huge thanks to Lilly and her team for supplying us with these wonderful photos. And do head to Lovemydog.co.uk to check out all the wonderful dog accoutrements, and the rest of the fabulous dog models.
