I’m thrilled to be taking part in the inaugural Smart Women Week hosted by Red magazine in London, which runs from 21-15 September, celebrating the brilliant women around us.
So, please join me and my friends at Red for an intimate supper club on Wednesday 23rd September, where I will be cooking up a feast for a very small number of dinner guests. There will be lots of time to chat before and during supper about all things food, fashion, digital and more.
Food-wise you can expect hors d’oeuvres, followed by three courses; think large platters to share using seasonal ingredients and an emphasis on vegetables, wholegrains and herbs, inspired by my cookbook Friends, Food, Family, (which was published yesterday in America!). There will also be some very special Champagne Ayala, and fine wines which will be paired with the food.
I’m particularly pleased about Champagne Ayala: Founded in 1860, and one of the original Grande Marques, it now belongs to the Bollinger family, and its Champagnes are crafted by cellar mistress Caroline Latrive, one of only 3 female Chefs de Cave in the region, which makes its especially perfect for a meal taking place during Smart Women Week.
I’ve also asked my brilliant oenophile friend John Franklin, one of Champagne Ayala’s UK representatives, to talk briefly before dinner about Champagne Ayala and the selection of fine wines that he is matching to the food we will be serving.
