The Burlington Arcade was built “for the sale of jewellery and fancy articles of fashionable demand, for the gratification of the public“, so it seems entirely appropriate that it is the site of the latest CHANEL standalone beauty boutique in London.

I adore CHANEL make-up – my toes are always adorned with their pretty nail colours, they make a perfect shade of coral lipstick, the foundation goes on like a dream, and the Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream evens out skin as if it contained magic qualities.

CHANEL have been very canny with their standalone beauty locations in London: the wonderful Covent Garden store (I wrote about it here) feels like event shopping, and this one like the epitome of luxe.

I’ve worn CHANEL fragrance for years – for all of my twenties my signature scent was Allure, and over the past few years I’ve worn Eau de Cologne from Les Exclusifs as my everyday scent. Here you can find every scent, even the ones you normally can only find in CHANEL boutiques, and try them all out to find your favourite.

Really, it’s like the most alluring grown up sweet shop.

And I do think that if one is going to buy something lovely from CHANEL Beaute then why not head to the Arcade and fully enjoy the experience, as opposed to standing around in a large department store beauty hall?

Now this has perked my Jan right up! Thanks for sharing.
My lunch break (and bank balance) will never be the same again though.

The Tiniest T’s favourite treat is to go to the Chanel counter in Westfield’s House of Fraser to play with the make-up. I’d say seven was quite early to start a passion for luxury beauty products, but I remember falling in love with my Grandmother’s Chanel No.5 at about the same age and it’s been synonymous with the height of beauty luxury for me ever since, so I guess these things start early. The Chanel counter staff are very indulgent, and as long as they’re not too busy, seem not to mind me painting the TT’s nails or letting her put on some lip gloss. I might take her to Burlington Arcade – I think we’ll both be in seventh heaven

Absolutely LOVE this post (and the definition of the Burlington Arcade!) Please can you tell me which Chanel shade you deem to be the perfect coral as I am a coral lipstick fan too? (FANTASTIC photos as always) Fxxx

I was passing through Burlington Arcade the other day (to check if any sales at Lulu Guiness) and couldn’t believe my eyes! What did you get, if I may ask?
