I really do love having people over to eat at my London flat. Sometimes I make an effort and lay the table, sometimes guests are lucky if they get a knife and a fork. For my most recent story for the Great Boden Diaries Project, I documented an autumnal supper party I threw for a few girlfriends here in September, using seasonal produce – cauliflower, squash, mushrooms, apples, wet walnuts, Kentish cobnuts and Victoria plums, along with a tabletop using dahlias, which are fast heading to the top of my list of favourite flowers.

Amazing how a crisp white table cloth and flowers can create such a beautiful look.

I agree with you – dahlias are gorgeous, and in particular when you are mixing different colours, like you have done! What are wet walnuts, exactly? I have never heard of them before.
