Everyone loves milliner Stephen Jones. It’s a straightforward fashion fact. And to have him on site at Port Eliot Festival last week, creating bespoke millinery looks for free, for festival goers in association with Bumble & bumble was an absolute dream.
Stephen had done his homework and had boards of ideas and boxes and boxes of hats for festival goers, so I sat down with him to find a look to go with my outfit of the the day.
I was wearing striped Boden shorts, so Stephen decided to go for a nautical feel, which we named ‘Shipwrecked by Stephen’.
Bea started off with Prep spray, and then used Thickening at the roots, before curling my hair to get a dishevelled look to go with our shipwrecked theme.
Then the lovely Bea developed a hair look for me to match my new hat
Then Stephen fitted my hat.
For the res of the weekend, the Bumble team worked like Trojans, giving amazing hair looks to what seemed like every child and teen at the festival, as well as a series of grateful adults, thrilled to have wonderful hair after a night sleeping in a tent.
A HUGE thank you to Bumble & bumble for providing Hannah and me with a lovely yurt in which to sleep, and to Port Eliot Festival itself for hosting me.
