River Cottage + breadmaking + a perfect English summer’s day + blue skies + wonderful women + Boden = perfection
I had an early arrival in London from Addis Ababa, followed by a quick nap, and then a drive over the Thames to Waterloo to meet the Boden team and the other girls under the station clock.
There was afternoon tea on the train, and so much chatting that we nearly missed our stop, piling out onto the platform at Crewkerne in a mass of bags, boxes and laughter. Our hotel was The Bull in Bridport, and I retired early, lured back to my room by the prospect of my tiny bed. Ahem.
Next morning we headed to the River Cottage, where we spent the morning touring the kitchen garden, baking bread and watching demos, and the afternoon making Christmas canapes, and watching Steven make cocktails with smoke.
Then we drove back, slightly drunk on sun and self-satisfaction, to admire a sneak peek of the Boden Christmas collection, and eat an enormous supper at The Bull.
