I feel a little bit ashamed that I have taken only one proper walk so far this year: I live a five minute walk from Regent’s Park, and a fifteen minute drive from Hampstead Heath, so there is really no excuse for not getting outdoors. The only problem is that Madam is getting on a bit: in sausage years she is over seventy, and the long, bracing walks of years past are far beyond her

But today was so beautiful that it would have been a crime not to take her to the Heath, so we drove up at 330pm, just before the light started to fall, for a thirty minute trot.

(I needed some exercise, as I made macaroni cheese for supper on Saturday night. Well, fusilli cheese if we are to be entirely accurate.)

It may have been sunny, but it was oh so muddy.

I kept turning around to discover madam stuck in the mud. It’s tricky to move fast when your legs are only three inches long.

Poor P-bad.. The dilemma of being a short person in challenging outdoor conditions. Must have made it more of a workout for her?

Good to see you back in Hunters LLG. You’ll always be my second favourite Hunter model. 🙂

I sympathise with MPD – I myself was an exhausted sausage after attempting to scale the mud slide that was Hampstead Heath yesterday. In converse. With holes in.
Still, it was nice to feel the sun after and see the London skyline after all that rain.
Lovely post for a Monday morning, thank you.

Beautiful views and delicious mac & cheese. And I have been walking a lot lately (mostly home from work) and it feels amazing!

I often take my little sausage, lilly up to Hampstead Heath (such a london breath of fresh air) and she loves it, but the last few times have been so muddy and wet. She’s a bit of lady, so runs after me with that sad look of ‘why mummy’….
