You may remember that just before I went to New York, I spent a heavenly twenty-four hours at The Goring Hotel in London, as a guest of Molton Brown. The hotel is where they shot their new advertising campaign, (my behind the scenes story is here), which is all about the idea of taking time, and they suggested I find some ways to do just that.
My first mission was to the bar, where Head Barman Brian Kinsella. and I looked at the ingredients in the Pink Pepperpod, and Black Peppercorn fragrances and came up with two delicious cocktails that matched them. (The recipes are at the end of this post.)
Cocktail tasting sadly done, I drifted back upstairs to my suite, lit all the scented candles, and waited for the final versions of our new cocktails to arrive. This is the Black Peppercorn cocktail:
And the Pink Pepperpod:
Given that I spend much of my life pinging around the world like a rubber band, rushing from meetings to events and back again, even when I have a hotel room to myself, I rarely get the chance to draw a bath and just…
So, given that I was under strict instructions to do just that at The Goring, before a delightful supper with my girlfriends, I drew that longed for bath, poured in rather a lot of heavenly Pink Pepperpod body wash, reached for my pink long drink, and then drifted slowly away on a cloud of pink pepper, tangerine and ginger.
Molton Brown’s Pink Pepperpod fragrance has the following notes:
Top: fiery pink pepper and tangerine
Middle: African ginger and cistus flower
Base: oakmoss and rich patchouli
So the Pink Pepperpod cocktail contains: Double shot of Napoleon Mandarin
Poured over ice topped with ginger beer
Molton Brown’s Black Peppercorn fragrance has the following notes:
Top: lemon, mandarin, bergamot and coriander
Middle: cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and violet
Base: oakmoss, sandalwood, patchouli and mus
Huge thanks to Molton Brown for arranging my stay at The Goring Hotel, and sponsoring this series of three posts on LLG.
