HUGE thanks to the extraordinarily talented Clym Evernden for designing the flyer for us. www.clymevernden.co.uk When I heard that Suzanne Edwards, the 23 year old sister of my dear friend, ex-assistant, and now wonderful fashion stylist Pip Edwards, had been paralysed from the waist down in an accident, was now confined to a wheelchair, and in need of funds for treatment, I wanted to do whatever I could to help.
So this October myself and Pip are hosting a fundraising evening, The Big London Shoe Sale, at Chiltern Street Studios in Marylebone, on the evening of Monday 21 October, to raise money to send Suzanne to China for potentially life-changing rehabilitation treatment.
It will consist of an online silent auction beforehand, and a public shoe sale on the 21st. There will be cake and wine and lots of fun! Please mark the date in all of your diaries! We are looking for any donations of shoes and boots that you may be able to provide for the sale.
New, vintage, pre-loved, samples, all sizes and all shapes would be so gratefully received. Anything kicking around in your closet that you don’t wear any more? Any designer or retailer you work with who might like to donate?
We will be covering all costs ourselves, so that every single penny raised will go towards sending Suzanne to the Chinese Clinic. If you can help, we would need all donations for the silent auction by Wednesday 16 October, and all donations for the shoe sale by 6pm on Friday 18th October.
They can be sent or dropped off at several London locations, thanks to our long-suffering agents, or email the LLG office at contact [at] libertylondongirl.com if NW1 is simpler.

And we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the evening of Monday 21st October!
Here is the back story to The Big London Shoe Sale
Not wanting to believe or accept a diagnosis of permanent paralysis at the age of 23, Suzanne Edwards embarked upon a gruelling rehab programme, which has astounded everybody with her grit and determination. The resultant strengthening of her core muscles has meant she has avoided many of the pitfalls of being a paraplegic such as pressure sores.
She continues to push herself every day in spite of all the challenges she faces. She sees minimal physical results and struggles to always be positive, living out her life paralysed and in a wheelchair. Suzanne is forever scouring the internet for details on the latest research and rehab programmes.
Her latest investigations have led her to a hospital in China where they work on the theory that the brain can find new pathways past the damaged injury site if pushed hard enough. It is an intensive boot camp, only just opening its doors internationally, of 6 hours a day, 6 days a week for 6 months. Suzanne dreams that one day she will prove all her doctors wrong and will walk again.
The cost is approximately £2,000 per month but this would be her best chance. This is where you come in…we need £12000 to pay for Suzanne’s treatment, and are hoping to raise all the money by ourselves over the next two months.

We have also set up a PayPal account for donations, and there is a button here on Suzanne’s site,
