One of the side benefits of Lancôme’s make up collaboration with Lanvin’s Alber Ebaz is that there will be no more scrabbling in the bottom of my handbag for an elusive black tube of Mascara: This packaging is hard to miss.
So many collaborations are dubious, with odd colours and vile packaging, so how pleasing that this is a wholly recognisable Elbaz illustration, packaged onto highly effective products. When I don’t have lash extensions, I use the Hypnôse mascaras pretty much every day, loving their lengthening and thickening effect on my rabbity-pale lashes.
Pictured above are two of the three re-packaged mascaras in the collection (the third is the Hypnôse Drama). The Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara gives extended and lifted-looking lashes, using a cone shaped brush, and the Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Star Mascara by Alber Ebaz uses a dual-sided brush to enhance lash volume.
The Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Show Star 5 Shadow Palette by Alber Elbaz, in Nudes/Charcoal, is perfect for a smoky eye. The shadows can be used either wet or dry, depending on the intensity, and I had great success using a dampened eyeliner brush in the dark grey to give an excellent smudged lash line. I used the two greys on the lid: the paler brushed over the whole area, and the darker one in the socket line, with the white up under the brow to highlight.
Really, a very cheering addition to any make up bag.

I just bought the eyeshadow palette and I love it! It’s one of the few palettes from which I’ll use ALL the colours, not only two or three. Doesn’t hurt that the packaging it cute, either.
