Goedhuis & Co rose tasting

The annual Starlight Summer Rosé Tasting supported by Goedhuis & Co Fine Wine Merchants, Savills and Weatherbys Private Banking will take place this year on Wednesday 12th June at the Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York’s Square in Chelsea, and the evening is in aid of Starlight Children’s Foundation. I go every year, and it is a brilliant evening. (And makes a nice change from fashion events, as it’s full of men!)

I have a pair of tickets worth £90 for an LLG reader – just leave a comment here or on the LLG Facebook with the name of your favourite Champagne. As this is short lead time we’l notify the recipient on Friday afternoon.

Some of France’s top rosé wine and champagne producers will be there, as well as English sparkling wine producer, Nyetimber.

The still wines for tasting will be:
Ch St Baillon Réserve du Château Côtes de Provence Rosé 2012
Château d’Esclans Côtes de Provence Rosé 2012
Ch d’Esclans Whispering Angel Côtes de Provence Rosé 2012
DomainesOtt Côtes de Provence Clos Mireille Rosé 2012
Domaine Bernard Reverdy Sancerre Rosé 2011
Chateau de Sours Rose 2012

There will also be some excellent champagne houses and sparkling wine producers showing their wines including:
Nyetimber Rosé 2008
Champagne Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé NV
Champagne Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé NV

There will also be delicious snacks, carefully chosen to balance alongside the wines throughout the evening and will include Burgundian cheese, plenty of Parma ham and, for those with a sweet tooth, some strawberries and macaroons.

Tickets for the Starlight Rose wine Tasting cost £45 per head and are available from‐tasting

Monies will be raised during the evening through ticket sales, a silent auction, a raffle and subsequent rosé wine sales.

My favourite champagne is always the one that is open! Seriously, we went round the Taittinger cellars on the holiday weekend and tasted some gorgeous champagne, so my vote goes to Taittinger.

I would absolutely love to go to this! Tough question but I think I’d have to say my favourite champagne is Tattinger – but I’m very willing to try some others!

Veuve Clicquot – both for the taste and the company’s history. What a woman!

Mine is Taittinger Rose. And Ott Rose is mine favorite wine ever!!! I heard that Onassis used to drink it when in Provence! Cheers!

It has to be Bollinger for me. My grandfather worked for them years ago and so it was always the bottle of choice brought out on special occasions. I love letting him regale me with stories of his years there.
