MS Bake sale London

I’m still completely blown away by the wonderful people who helped my cake sale to raise both funds for The MS Trust and support for MS Awareness Week. We made almost £400!

A few people have said that as they could not make it, they would like to make a donation to The MS Trust, so I’ve set up a Just Giving Page if anyone would like to follow through.

So to everyone who Tweeted, Facebook-ed and attended: thank you so so much for all your support.

We set up camp in the reception area of Foxtons in Camden (thank you Scarlett!), not knowing if anyone was going to come, and, truth be told, we were a little underwhelmed over the first hour or so but, as I had made a lot of cake, my sister and I decided to stay there all afternoon. And, amazingly, we sold nearly everything.

And the extra cake didn’t go to waste: I packaged up the spare brownies and chocolate cake and dropped it off at the Young Women’s Shelter & Hostel in Camden on Saturday morning.

The wonderful Sarah Alcock from Sainsbury’s Magazine, who came up from their offices to help us sell cake, and who made scrumptious lemon & white chocolate muffins to sell, wrote up the sale on their blog here.

And thank you again to: Foxtons Marketing & Press office, and to everyone at the Camden office for agreeing to let me take over their reception area to sell cake.

Billingtons unrefined sugar

Equally huge thanks to, in no particular order to: Green & Blacks for kilos of chocolate, to Billingtons Unrefined Sugar for two cases of Muscavado light & dark, molasses, golden icing and caster sugar, to Rosso Pomodoro Restaurants for supplying me with six huge jars of Nutella, to Steve the Postman for picking up my back breaking sugar delivery from Foxtons and carrying it up the stairs to my flat, to editor Helena Lang at Sainsbury’s magazine, for offering help, my darling, dearest sister and to my just wonderful fashion week assistant Katie Bowkett for offering to come and help too.

And of course to all the people who spread the word across their networks too. I wanted to spread awareness of Multiple Sclerosis, regardless of how much money we made, and I really feel you have all made a wonderful contribution to MS Awareness Week 2013.

Oh well done to you and everyone who helped. I love the colour of the cupcake frosting, how did you arrive at that shade?

I made a rhubarb cake a couple of days ago with a cinnamon and sugar topping, splendid way to cakeify the spring rhubarb.
