I’m back in one piece from my trip to Jerez with Gonzalez Byass and Tio Pepe, and already missing both the sunshine of Southern Spain and the Fino sherry. Fortunately I don’t have time to pine for Jerez, as I am off first thing to Bath in the south west of England, for the latter part of the Bath In Fashion 2013 festival. That’s because I am speaking on Friday night at the Guildhall in Bath, in an event billed as An Evening with Sasha Wilkins of LibertyLondonGirl.
Basically, I’ll be talking about my erstwhile career as a magazine fashion editor in London and in New York, before moving onto how I got into blogging and all things digital. There will be lots of advice, fashion industry stories and, hopefully, humour, along with some ideas about how to market a business on-line, be it a blog or a brand – or both. Then we’ll be doing a Q&A, so I’m hoping for lots of interesting questions!
If you can’t make my talk, do check out the other events going on in Bath as part of the festival. I love the sound of Masters of Fashion Illustration: a Talk with David Downton and Jade Parfitt on Saturday, and Julie Verhoeven is in conversation with Iain R Webb tomorrow night. I’m also intrigued by the British Bagmakers pop up.
Catwalk shows will be produced by London Fashion Week’s John Walford and styled by Rebekah Roy, hands on craft workshops include the Kaffe Fasset studio, Bath in Fashion on film features fashion moments on the big screen at the Little Theatre Cinema and Super Shopping Saturday will feature a bonanza of in-store promotions and events to update spring wardrobes.
Check out the website which has the full programme here.
Bath in Fashion is a Bath BID (Business Improvement District) initiative supported by B&NES Council and Bath Tourism Plus. I am not receiving payment for my talk – although my travel expenses are being covered.
