tord boontje Tangle Globe, Gold

When I move into my House of Dreams (TM Anne of Green Gables), it will have Tord Boontje’s glorious Blossom light piece for Swarovski suspended from the ceiling. In the meantime, the Tangle Globe is on my shopping list.

His laser cut metal Garland was designed originally as the Wednesday Light in 2000, and has become a design classic. (£20 available from Habitat here.)

In this piece, a specially designed Tangle Garland in either gold or in silver twists around inside the blown glass sphere. The garland depicts ivy, Queen Ann’s Lace and some of Tord Boontje’s other favourite plants. The glass sphere keeps the garland protected from dust whilst the open centre core allows you to easily access the light bulb.

It comes fully assembled with a 3 metre long textile cord and UK plug. £260 from Tord Boontje’s website here

I’ve got the Garland, but haven’t decided where to put it in my house!

That’s so pretty! My aunty has a similar one which throws patterns on the walls when you turn the light on!

Discovered your blog a few months ago and enjoy it more every time I stop by. Now you’ve referenced Anne of Green Gables–I’m hooked.
