Ah it’s that time of year again, where my desire to not huff & puff whilst climbing stairs finally outweighs my desire to eat everything in sight. To that end I spent a couple of hours this morning having a fitness assessment at The Corinthia Hotel’s Espa Life, where I have been invited to spend the next three months tuning up.
The invitation was timely: I’ve been trying to go running since Christmas, but this ridiculous Narnia winter has not exactly been conducive to this neophyte runner’s outdoor exercise regimen. So I’m hoping that indoor training will get me moving.
At least I am well accoutred: GapFit sent me over a bag of their fitness gear to test out. I’m particularly taken by their shelf bra tanks. Of course, being, er, well-endowed, I wear a bandaging sports bra underneath, but the extra compressing support from the tank is all to the good.
I’m wearing this GapFit windblocker jacket, which really does keep the chill cold out on the move. It’s longer at the back than the front, to keep bottoms covered, and has handy slits in the extended wrist cuffs to pop your thumbs through to keep hands warm, and stop the sleeves riding up when running.
I’m very fond of these extremely comfortable blue Hey Jo leggings. They have anti-chafing flat seams, and the 26% elastane content compresses, providing muscle support without constraining. They also have a handy key pocket in the small of the back.
