Sasha Wilkins

I am in the heady throes of a love affair with everything that I am wearing in this photo. It is essentially a riff on what I wore continuously over New Year in St Mawes, Cornwall.  The biggest, most waterproof, heavy and squishy padded parka, that’s long enough to cover your bottom properly, with biiiig patch pockets for all my rubbish and old conkers, and a proper old school bright orange lining. The tin lid of pleasure comes from the tweed elbow patches and facings, and the meticulous attention to detail that includes secure inside pockets, and leather bindings at the wrists. And, AND it’s by Tommy Hilfiger, who I do not normally associate with BRILLIANT winter coats.

Then there is the super warm Chinti & Parker tunic dress, made from soft cotton twill in a pretty tiny star print, which is loose enough to slip a cosy Heat Tech layer underneath, and forgives a Christmas holiday tummy.

And lovely, thick, warm navy ribbed tights from Uniqlo, like what we wore to school Once Upon a Time, with a really high waist, so you don’t spend all your time hitching your undies up. And on my feet a splendid pair of Ms Chilvers’ boots, that are high enough not to give me Stumpy McStumpy leg, as most ankle boots do.

Oh and the hat rather unexpectedly from Superdry: navy cable knit, & lined in fleece with a perky bobble on top. Very cheering in this weather.

And please do notice: NO BLACK CLOTHES. And no sunglasses. It is, forsooth, a winter miracle.

The details:

Tommy Hilfiger x Blauer Limited Edition parka (now sadly sold out). But this mens one is nice  – and half price in the sale..
Chinti & Parker Charcoal star print dress (AND it’s in the sale for £66 reduced from £165!)
Uniqlo ribbed navy tights
Penelope Chilvers Pasofino burgundy suede ankle boots
(In hand). Superdry navy bobble hat with fleece lining (£19.95!)

All items c/o the brands cited.

I’ve said it before, and at the risky of sounding slightly pervy: you have cracking pins. Stumpy-legged little me is deeply jealous. x

@Zoi: I have to say I do like a London winter: cold enough to wear your favourite pieces, but not so cold that you have to bundle up like a Michelin man! LLGxx

Sunday was mighty windy in London, but you look lovely and warm. Was at a market and gusts of winds were blowing the stallholders displays over.

Thank you so much for posting a link to the beanie. I wanted one for my own puppy walking as soon as I saw yours on Instagram. And yes, your legs are amazing. They go on and on and on! LLG just continues to entertain and educate – it’s one of the best blogs I read.
