Lancome Hydra Zen Yeux Neurocalm

I’m a very late convert to the cause of eye cream. I won a tiny bit of the genetic lottery from my maternal side: no major crows feet yet, and I am a bit lazy on the prevention is better than cure front. But recently I’ve noticed tell tale fine lines starting to creep, and I’ve been waking in the morning with the skin around my eyes feeling dry and taut. So I reached for Lancome’s Hydra Zen Yeux Neurocalm eye cream.

I’m not going to pretend that I woke up one day, looked in the mirror and shouted ZOHMYGOD my wrinkles have gone, but what I have noticed is an all round softening, a blurring if you will of the skin around my eyes, and no more taut, dry skin – which means hopefully no more incipient deep crows feet around my eyes. I have pretty sensitive skin, what with the rosacea an’all, and it doesn’t take much to set my eyes weeping, but I’ve had no adverse reaction to this at all, which isn’t always the case with eye creams.

I also like the almost gel-like texture: it’s not too heavy, which I always think pulls the very delicate eye area down too much. It’s also in a little pump action bottle,, so it feels hygienic: not a big fan of jars you have to stick your fingers in on a daily basis. So, all in all, it’s a definite yes for me for this eye cream.

If you can take a pic of the ingredients details on the box, I would mightily appreciate it. Lancome have a very poor track record for pumping their products with petrochemicals and I am particularly fearful of putting that kind of stuff near my eyes.

I am in the market for a new eye cream because the one I was using before– a fantastic product by Claudalie– has ceased production. Why they ceased producing it when it only ever got rave reviews and frequently sold out was a mystery until the new Claudalie eye cream was unveiled: it is nearly $50 more expensive!! I honestly feel like writing to them to say “you’re not fooling anyone, fuckers!”

I have recently tried some lancome products and liked it, I’m never normally tempted to go for the *buy two and get a free make up bag* offer but was reeled in when I went into boots looking for a moisturiser, I liked their moisturisers and received a free sample of the eye gel which was also nice. It does leave the delicate area feeling quite soft xx

With a name like ‘Hydra Zen’ who could resist? I’d be tempted only I’m quite into paraben free products at the moment.

The name is definitely a winner. I could definitely see myself going with something like this, partly because I do feel some need. My eyes are starting to look like a hypnotherapist’ mesmerisers of some cartoon. Let’s hope this helps!
