I’ve been carrying around one of Chanel’s new spring nail colours for over a week now, intending to get a manicure, but I never seem to have time – or the inclination – to get my nails done. But part of my New Year’s resolution to be a little more together, a little more groomed so I knuckled down, and I now have fingernails painted in Chanel’s delightful Fracas.
This fabulously uplifting pink, perfect for the grey days of January is one of three colours in Chanel’s SS13 colour collection, Printemps Precieux de Chanel: the others are Emprise, a blush & Accessoire, an oxblood red. I predict Fracas will be the standout of the three for the season: although it’s not as edgy as previous cult classics Rouge Noir, or as easy to wear as Particuliere, which also both took off because they were immediately recognisable as Chanel colours, it’s a lovely shade, that works well as an accent colour against black and navy.
