Eau Efficace is the new “all-in-one” cleansing water from Sisley, which promises to removes all traces of make-up from both the face and eyes in one quick step. Sisley make some of my favourite skin care products, so I was curious to see if this lived up to the brand’s reputation.
Essentially it’s part of the Micellar cleansing family, which I wrote about here, when I reviewed Bioderma’s H2O Micellar Cleansing Water. The product, a buffered water, is applied to the whole face using a cotton wool pad and simply wiped off. With my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, I have to be very careful with cleansers. This is marketed at delicate, sensitive and dry skins, and I found that this works admirably at both removing makeup, and leaving my skin feeling clean, without squeaking. My face felt smooth, plumped and hydrated afterwards.
If you use waterproof eye makeup, however, you will need a dedicated remover, such as the Melvita one I recommended here.
I’m also a big fan of its delivery system:
This is the first time I’ve seen the push top more normally seen on nail polish remover used for a cleanser, and it’s incredibly convenient, avoiding spillage or the use of excess product.
Eau Efficace is a not all cheap £69, available here. But, if you can afford it, and are a Sisley fan, then you won’t be disappointed.
