Because of Grumpy above, there is no shortage of sausage-related merchandise chez LLG. (She is sporting her Woof! Markus Lupfer for Whistles’ sweater, a Christmas present from the Whistles press office. Sausage-size is a medium. Available here.)
So, next up in my present buying guide (we’ve had Godchildren & Tricky Women already), here is a rundown of my favourite sausage-related pieces: (and some for other animals too.)
Fenella Smith’s lovely ceramics are made in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of the Potteries. Using best Cornish clay, she creates strong, slip-cast tableware.
Mug £17.50, Mini Mug £14.50, Dachshund Rectangular Dog Bowl £35.00, Slim Jug £27.50
(Also Black Labradors, Spaniels, Pugs - hello Louisa these are right up your street! And, whisper it, cats.)
(Last date for ordering for Christmas is December 19th, so get a wiggle on. There’s free delivery over £75, and she ships worldwide.)
And in case you needed more sausage-style mugs:
Bottom left: Repeat Repeat’s Dachshund Silhouette Mug in Green, which Miss P gave me as a moving in present is actually on sale at Heals at the moment. £7.00 (was £10.00)
Bottom right: My sister gave me Mary Kilvert’s Larry the Long Dog Mug yesterday as an early Christmas present. £12.50 (+ free UK shipping)
The artist Rory Dobner’s Marvellous Mugs are works of art in themselves. Lovely Richard gave me this one last year, when he spotted it in Liberty’s, and I adore it. (It’s called the Hot Dog, £16.) It’s sold out everywhere online, but his other mugs are at Graham & Green here, with other work is available from Liberty here. BUT Rory tells me you can pick up a Hot Dog mug in person from his Hampstead studio, or he can pop one in the post. His website and more info is here.
Wonderful hand-embroidered cushions and other dog-related loveliness from Edwyn UK. (I wrote about it all here.) Edwyn UK’s Etsy shop is here
Katie Rose gave me this wonderful paperweight by Penny Lindop Designs £12.00. (She also sells Scotties, Border Terriers & Westies.)
I also have an amazing Dachshund Tea Towel £9.95 from Bottle Green Homes. Inspired by Jackson de Beauvoir, their very own in-house miniature wire-haired dachshund, this tea towel will ring very, very true for any dachshund owner. (You can also read Jackson’s very own blog at http://jacksondebeauvoir.wordpress.com)
Repeat Repeat also do a tea towel to match their mug (above), also quite clearly designed by someone who understands the obstreperous nature of the Sausage. £10.25
And, if you really need one, you can buy a dachshund pen here. £3.25

Those Fenella Smith mugs are adorable! I checked out her site after seeing her products here, and I think I want everything. I only wish she had a few more cat items, and that I had more dog lovers as friends to whom I could give some of her products as gifts.
I was in Anthropologie the other day (in the U.S.) and saw a couple more dachshund gifts that made me think of you/this post/Posetta Baddog. I don’t know if they’re available in UK stores/online, but they were this letter holder (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/search/25489923.jsp?cm_vc=SEARCH_RESULTS) and this extra wide notepad (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/search/20517520.jsp?cm_vc=SEARCH_RESULTS). I found the notepad particularly cute.
Thanks so much for sharing all these wonderful doxie goodies! Makes me wish I lived in the UK so I could get my hands on them in person
You’ve definitely shown me some designers + items I’ve never come by before – thanks for the Dachshund education!
