The third week in November was a very mixed bag, so I thought the best way to sum it up was via the medium of Instagram. I was in a haze of LA-induced jetlag for most of it: peering out from beneath my hair in the manner of a confused dormouse.
The week kicked off with the christening of godchild no 5, but not everyone chooses to appear on LLG, for reasons various, so we shall move straight onto the rest of the week. Between many, many work meetings and countless hours spent at the email coalface, there was a lunch at The Connaught, hosted by Helene Darroze, (above top row) to introduce her ‘Just Like You’ film project with my recent LA hosts, Citizens of Humanity. (You can watch the film here.) I was lucky enough to be seated next to Helene, one of the great London chefs, and eat her glorious food. (You may remember that my tattoo artist Mark Mahoney has also made a film for Citizens.)
Jo Malone introduced their new collection for nexr spring at a mid-morning presentation, inspired by English afternoon tea, and accompanied by cake and delicious elderflower & gooseberry compote (Above, lower row).
And then more eating:
The annual Tiffany Thanksgiving Dinner at Harry’s Club in Mayfair was particularly festive and wonderful. I was lucky to sit next to fellow non-turkey eater (because it always feels a bit embarrassing to not eat the festive meats), Marie Claire Editor Trish Halpin, and together we ate festive pasta pomodoro, f0llowed by a transcendental pecan pie.
Then it was off to meet Team J Brand over from California for their London press day, with their J Brand collection womenswear in a glorious neutral palette.
The week was definitely crowned by my team’s glorious joint win with Richard Nicoll of the Vodafone/BFC Fashionable Pub Quiz at Shoreditch House, (covered here) and I ended it with a healthy salad and not so healthy chilli quesadilla at Wahaca Westfield, in the company of my friends at Team Diesel UK after our store pull for last Monday’s shoot at the Westfield Diesel store.
