As the point of this column is partly to show and tell the products I use regularly, it’s no accident that this is the second exfoliating product I’ve highlighted in a month. That’s because I’m in danger of being obsessed by facial exfoliants. For such a simple product, they make such a big difference to the skin. Their remit in the beauty pantheon is simple: to eliminates impurities, dead skin cells and excess oil.
Caudalie products never have have an adverse reaction with my sensitive skin, and I’ve been using the Gentle Buffing Cream since 2008. It’s a mild product, with a pleasant granular creamy texture (none of that heavy duty sloughing of the Aapri of my youth), and does the trick without leaving my face overly red. (I pretty much always use this the morning of big photo shoots to prep my skin for the makeup artist.)
It’s priced in the mid-range, so not cheap, but I find a tube lasts a looooong time, as you need just a pea-sized amount.
