As some of you may know, after five enormously successful seasons with Mercedes-Benz UK, I have moved on to different projects at London Fashion Week and elsewhere this season. In particular, I am thrilled to announce that I will be part of SHOWstudio’s review team for this season’s collections in London and in Milan.

“As fashion month approaches, SHOWstudio is proud to announce its pioneering new plans for covering the shows. SHOWstudio is embracing the fact that the majority of fashion followers now view fashion online, and will be using new digital channels to communicate fashion in a raw, unedited and honest way.
Central to SHOWstudio’s coverage will be daily live panel discussions taking place throughout fashion month at our Mayfair headquarters. The talks will be comprised of fashion experts – including journalists, stylists, buyers and image-makers – who will critique the shows live as they unfold, utilising new communication techniques such as Twitter and catwalk live streams.
The conversations, which will be led by Associate Editor Lou Stoppard and acclaimed journalist and writer Camilla Morton, will take place amongst panelists of three to four sartorial stalwarts, who will offer candid, uncensored commentary.
Panelists confirmed so far include Whistles Chief Executive Jane Sheperdson, writer Colin McDowell MBE, menswear stylist Simon Foxton, designer Judy Blame, vintage doyenne Virginia Bates, designer Antony Price, fashion historian Caroline Evans, editor Imran Amed, writer Bronwyn Cosgrave, filmmaker Ruth Hogben, fashion commentator Marion Hume, editor and blogger Sasha Wilkins, writer Roger Tredre, Matches co-founder Ruth Chapman, artist Daphne Guinness and Head of London College of Fashion Dr Frances Corner OBE.
Discussions will take place around shows including Jason Wu, Victoria Beckham, Burberry Prorsum, Christopher Kane, Fashion East, Prada, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton, and will aim to bring the excitement and immediacy of the front row to a broader audience of fashion enthusiasts.
SHOWstudio Director Nick Knight says, ‘There is so much potential to cover the fashion shows in an entertaining way that can involve and excite a huge range of people. Sport events, for example, are always explained to their public by a panel of ‘experts’, whereas fashion is just presented as if its only audience is the industry. Fashion coverage is also so inoffensive, everyone is too scared to rock the boat. Any art form benefits from a strong and robust critical forum – including fashion.’
