I don’t use facial exfoliators everyday: my skin is far too sensitive, but once a week or so I use one to slough off the city grime, and keep my skin cell renewal going. Because of the sensitivity, I can’t use anything too harsh, and so the days of scouring off my epidermis with Aapri scrub are long, long over: I need something with micro fine grains to gently buff my skin, not slough it off.
There are about three exfoliators I use in rotation, the first being Aveda’s Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner, which has a very fine texture (it uses powdered tourmaline to buff away dull and clogged skin cells) and a clay base – which isn’t drying, as you may think. It’s excellent: my skin always glows in a not-scrubbed way after using it in the shower, and stays clear afterwards.
