I’m not a particularly acquisitive fashion lover. You won’t ever find me lining up outside a store for the launch of a new collection, or joining waiting lists for It Bags. But, once in a blue moon, something captures my imagination and my want want want alarm button goes off.
Which is what happened with the first iteration of the Nike x Liberty Dunk Sky High Liberty Print Trainers. Because, oh, I do love a bit of Liberty print, a lovely piece of Tana Lawn, a ditsy 30s floral print.. Unfortunately they were one of Liberty’s most popular collaborations, and sold out immediately at Liberty.
And then when I was visiting Nike Olympic HQ here in London last week I was told there was a new print wedge coming out. And today I saw it online at Liberty in all its glory. The Nike Dunk Sky Hi Sport high top remixed with the classic Pepper floral print in a purple and yellow colourway.
The 1980s classic has been redesigned and fitted with a concealed wedge platform and, most importantly, it’s STILL AVAILABLE for £95 of your British pounds. I love this trainer: its perfect for the English summer, pretty, warm and high enough to keep your feet out of the puddles. Also: sort of sporty-looking for our Olympic summer. All WIN.

(For the record, the Liberty in the name of this blog is to do with freedom & has zero connection to the store, love it as I do.)

I took my breath when I saw this time’s collection, and so, I’m heading to Liberty today and grab one…
Oh my, I absolutely love these!
I am so impressed with this collaboration on the whole. There are so many pairs that I would love, and they are all so wearable.
What a shame they’re only available in sizes 3-7 and, according to the website, ‘Liberty X Nike trainers fit small to size, we recommend you take the next size up from your regular size’. Has anyone told Nike (and a lot of other shoe manufacturers, for that matter, although most have got around to making size 8s) that women’s feet are getting bigger?
@Katie: totally agree! And don’t even get me started on sizing range of premium denim ranges! Are we all size 10 with size 5 feet???
Love them such a cute print.

I have to say, I always thought your blog name WAS to do with this store! I adore Liberty – it’s my favourite shop in the world.
