Bob the Staffie started his career in fashion just over one year ago, when he joined London PR agency Varg on a work placement. He was only meant to stay with Varg PR (and his now pet, the lovely Tove) for a short period of time, just enough to get a respite from rescue kennel life, which had made Bob very depressed (although not as depressed as he was pre-rescue).
However, as Tove is only human, there was no way she could let Bob go back to the kennels after getting to know his soft, wonderful, kind personality and he soon won a permanent role as a fashion PR — he specialises in snoozing on his fave DAY Home cushion, barking orders for his colleagues to play with him and making sure all visitors get their daily dose of love and Bob cuddles.
On his time off from Varg, he enjoys walking his mum on Hampstead Heath, sleeping on pretty much anyone’s lap, eating chicken and snoring louder than a jet plane. Bob is possibly the smile-iest, happiest 10 year old dog in the world, and loves showing off his handful of teeth (the few he has left after his tough life pre-Dogs Trust) in a grin that goes from ear to ear.
He also likes to thank the wonderful people at Dogs Trust, who took him from the streets of Glasgow to his dream job in fashion, by doing charity work from time to time — most recently he sold hand-knitted chickens for Easter, and gifted the money to the wonderful Harefield branch where he is from.
Lovely Bob is proof that Staffies can be the kindest, sweetest dogs.

No nice to finally read a positive post about these dogs. I believe it’s more of a case of the owners nature rather than the dogs. So glad Bob got the happy ending that so many others don’t. x
Aw this breaks my heart. If I am ever in a position to be able to give a dog a proper home, I would love a rescue staffie. They get such a bad rep and apparently are a breed that nearly always ends up being put down. I’ve seen so many that are just huge softies like this gorgeous guy!

Oh Bob — what a handsome boy! So happy to see this. This post just inspired me to go and squeeze my own pitbull mix rescue girl. She’s owned me for the past two years, is the smartest, sweetest, goofiest creature I’ve ever met. And is completely unaware of her size when she leaps into your lap for kisses.
Thank you so much for this wonderful post which balances the bad press they so often get in the tabloids . I am a volunteer at our local animal home & we always have a large selection of Staffys & their mixtures . Most have had a really awful start in life but they are so loving & forgiving after a little TLC – we have the photos to prove it , happy rehomed Staffys with other dogs , with cats & most of all children – they adore children & get called Nanny dogs . Bob is gorgeous , give him a cuddle from me .
I love this post!!!!. I read a great article in the Sunday Times a while ago about this breed and they are much maligned for no good reason. We came across this lovely little lad called Charlie via Twitter who is waiting for a home @CharlieTheStaff in Guildford, Surrey. Hope someone lovely can give him a good home.

It’s such a shame that some irresponsible dog owners have caused these dogs to have such a bad reputation when they are actually fabulous dogs, as Bob proves!
So glad to hear that Bob finally got a lovely new owner with lots of love and attention. I think its fantastic that you use your blog to promote the work of the Dogs Trust & it’s always lovely to see the dogs & read about their new lives. If only dogs could talk; these rescue dogs would have some tales to tell although their stories would probably be heartbreaking.
He is such a darling! My Father recently had a stroke and my parents had only recently lost their dog- there hadn’t been time to adopt a new one and now I think it will be too much for Mum to be inducting a new one with all that’s happening- but I know a dog would be such good therapy so it makes me very sad- still great to know so many dogs find such great homes
