From Monday night, I’ll be in Singapore until the 21st May, to attend Asia Fashion Exchange, which comprises Singapore Fashion Festival, a showcase of world-class collections by top and emerging designers and labels (Including Zac Posen, Roland Mouret, Raoul, & Thierry Mugler), both international and Asian and curated by my dear friend Colin McDowell; Asia Fashion Summit, which attracts retail experts, speakers & delegates from around the world; Blueprint, Singapore’s fashion trade fair, and Star Creation, a regional fashion design competition to spot budding talent.
I’ll be attending the first three strands, and at 4pm (8amGMT) on 17th of May at the main runway venue, Tent@Orchard, I’ll be sitting on the panel for a live streamed debate on Fashion’s Digital Media Revolution.
The session with be chaired by Colin McDowell, creative director of the Audi Fashion Festival, and the panellists are:
Tallulah Harlech, actress. who is covering AFX for Vogue.co.uk, Sasha Wilkins aka LibertyLondonGirl, Daniel Saynt of Rebecca Minkoff and, (about which I am particularly happy), lovely Sarah Curran, Founder & CEO of mywardrobe.com.
“As fashion consumption habits change with the rise of the internet, digital media has become an integral and hot new component in every fashion label’s strategy. As it brings fashion closer to the masses, what are the implications for bricks-and-mortar retail businesses? Can the two co-exist happily or will one overtake the other in the long run? If so, how should designers and fashion entrepreneurs respond?”
