As you may know, I happily hopped off to The Oliver Awards  with MasterCard on Sunday night as part of their Priceless London programme, and I thought I’d give you a run down of what I wore and how I got ready over this and one more post.

My beautiful dress was designed by Suzannah for her AW12 collection. It’s called the Judy Blue Eyes dress, and is quite simply one of the loveliest party dresses I have ever worn. As my bust is so big – but my back so small, I tend to the sack school of dressing, as waisted dresses never have enough room for my top half.  So to wear a dress that was made for me, meant I could have a waist for, I think, the first time ever.

The dress was navy blue, with a sweetheart neckline, and navy lace filling in the decollete and sleeves. Demure but still alluring with the flash of skin through the lace. Joyously, it also has pockets to keep conkers in.

Suzannah also lent me a navy blue satin clutch bag from her shop, with a bejewelled elephant clasp, by handbag designers Wilbur & Gussie, and I wore my own Nicholas Kirkwood heels, which I also wore to the BAFTAS.

I also added this rather fierce bracelet from Stella & Dot for a bit of contrast:

Getting ready for events takes time. And I’ve learnt to my cost that if I don’t bother and skip the blow dry or maybe skimp on the makeup, you can guarantee that a photo will appear of me not looking as I would wish. I’ve pretty much given up on pro blow dries before events: 8 out of 10 times I can do it better myself and that saves so much time. (BaByliss Big Hair I LOVE YOU. Also: Nicky Clarke Classic Slim Curling Tong for proper Rita Hayworth waves.)

The other two major prep things I do are a spray tan if I have time. On Saturday I tested the Mystic Tan Booth at Heidi Klein on Westbourne Grove, picking level 2 of four, and absolutely loved the sunkissed glow I got. No one could tell I had been tanned, I just looked healthy, and my skimmed milk blue tint had disappeared. And NO streaks!

The second thing is to have individual eyelash extensions applied. I love Flutter Eyes (who I wrote about here), and happily pay to have a nice lady come to my house, where she sets up a treatment bed in my kitchen. I usually fall asleep for the hour and a half that it takes, or listed to Radi04. For this pale, invisibly lashed blonde, it is worth every single penny. I don’t need to wear eye make up day to day, and for events it makes all the difference. Goodbye mascara!

As for my body, after the tan I always use This Works perfect legs skin miracle 120ml £36 if I am doing bare legs, which I was on Sunday. On my toe nails was Christian Dior’s excellent Dior Addict Extreme in a bright pink – Lucky, and on my fingers, I used Butter LONDON 3 Free Lacquer Nail Paint in Yummy Mummy £12. It’s a perfect clear beige lacquer which is great for cack-handed people like me who don’t always have time for a manicure.

My scent was the lovely Diptyque’s L’Ombre sur L’Eau, (crumpled blackcurrant leaves and rose petals) which also comes in a handy parfum oil rollerball applicator, perfect for going out.

What a gorgeous outfit – the dress is divine, and as for the elephant clasp on the clutch – I die.

Very glam – loving the Kirkwood heels

you look lovely, that dress is just gorgeous. Elgeant, sophisticated and very flattering.

I’m wearing Butter London’s ‘Yummy Mummy’ on my nails today too. Gorgeous colour, brilliant brand.

love that you even detail your fragrance. Vogue used to do that for the front cover credits, I always like that. Thought it was a nice touch.

You look beautiful, Sasha! Looking forward your post about the makeup, love the lipstick. x

Amazing dress- hurrah for a designer who knows their way around a sleeve.

Another L’Ombre dans’ L’eau wearer! It’s a staple in my spring/summer scent wardrobe. The top notes smell to me of a haze of summer on a tomato leaf (that’s the blackcurrant leaf note) with a piquant splash of chilled grapefruit and then that photorealistic rose in the center.

I have both the EdT and the solid parfum (the solid retains those delightfully crisp topnotes).

What a perfect choice to go with your dress and the summery waves in your hair, LLG!

I’m back to say that, regarding your makeup, have you seen the summer collection from Bobbi Brown? The look reminds me much of you and your makeup here–eternal summer blonde:

I already expressed my feelings re your utter ravishingness (it is SO a word!), but I just have to mention that I covet and lust after that purse with the fire of a thousand suns!

You look pretty!! Love the shoes!
