I must admit: I was worried that the Bassets would have forgotten me. It’s a year, almost to the day, since I was in New Jersey and a lot has happened in the interim. I need not have worried. Finchley – who was a tiny puppy when we first met, worked it out within minutes of my arrival and has cleaved to my side ever since. He has slept on my bed (using his very own library steps to get up), and makes his presence felt at all times.

Love love love your post LLG. Brought back so many fabulous memories of growing up with my own family of Bassets. It’s those big beautiful eyes and floppy ears that get you everytime.

Thanks for giving me a Finchley “fix”! It’s been a while. Love it when the two Bassets guest star on your blog. (I enjoy the rest of the posts too, don’t get me wrong!)

thank you thank you thank you

they are so wonderful. As you know we had a basset when i was small and those pictures just make me think of him so much- in a great way. They are so funny, such huge personalities, ours was extremely lazy indeed unless there was something to chase- and then he could run so fast- it was surprising every time!
