This winter I am obsessed by wedge hiking boots. I’ve looked and looked and finally I think I’ve found what I want. I did a digest of great wedges here on LLG, but none of them are quite what I was looking for. My main problem is that I have these sticky legs so any thing too clumpy looks utterly ridiculous on me.
I went to Harvey Nichols’ great shoe salon in Knightsbridge, and tried on this seasons’ key tan Chloe wedge ones (they are in the HN shop windows) but they didn’t fit, and the great GAP Pierre Hardy ones have open toes, which when I tried them on, just looked odd on me.
And then I spotted these in LK Bennett. In the past I have found their shoes a bit too office-y for me, but this season they seem much more fashion forward. I like these wedges because they are light enough not to make my legs look like toothpicks in contrast.
(Although I was looking for something more clumpy, I’ve been here before. When I went off to Austria to work for Swarovski some years ago, I longed for Belstaff motorbike boots to clump through the snow, but they looked bloody stupid on me, and I ended up with a lightweight LK Bennett version which I loved and wore for years.)
Problem is how on EARTH do I decide whether to buy the black or the beige?
