A Walk in the Woods: Challock Forest, Kent

Nick, William & Treacle

A perfect Sunday. I was woken by adorable Jemima (six) on the landing outside my door asking her mother plaintively when I might be waking so she could get dressed. (She had very kindly let me sleep in her room.) F cooked a Sunday lunch of extreme deliciousness (roast chicken, perfect roast potatoes, puy lentils, petit pois, vegetable cream ragout) and we decided to walk it off in Challock forest with the infants, and Treacle the chocolate lab (six months).

Fran (you can take the girl out of London…) and Treacle

My impromptu walking outfit: Whistles Celeste Crombie coat and Hudson jeans, with Fran’s walking boots.

And thence to Chilham station where we said goodbye,

and I took the slow train to Sevenoaks to visit my dear friend M & his two adorable children. We drank tea and ate apple cake in the garden in the last of the Indian summer sunshine, before I was dropped at the station and so to London and home.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the warm weather. On this side of the pond, I ate sandwiches and strawberries by the lake with my boyfriend today. Looks like everyone had the same idea for a gorgeous autumn day.

that sounds like the perfect Sunday to me- and how exciting to finally see the puppy I’ve heard about!
