ACNE showed in Princess Margaret’s old apartments at Kensington Palace to just eighty people, in the most intimate space. Three very small rooms, with two seatings, one at 430, one at 5pm, and a cocktail bar on the lawn, with a three piece jazz band.
I should have worn ACNE wedges: my Rupert Sanderson stiletto heels kept sinking and anchoring me to the lawn. Maybe that was the plan? Persuade us of the practicality, as well as fashionability of ACNE shoes?
Jonny Johansson said, “When we decided to do a show in London wanted to do something Englis,h and there is so much to England, but I am Swedish and Kensington Palace is part of how I think of England…I love this mix of salon and show and I have always loved Lord Snowdon…when he agreed to work with us for ACNE paper he was our first big name photographer.”
