We’ve all been waiting to see what the ultimate fruits would be of 19RM, Roland Mouret’s partnership with kingmaker Simon Fuller. It was worth the wait, as Mouret announced this morning that he is to open his first flagship store, here in London, in Spring 2011.
Given that Simon Fuller has deep pockets and a global reach, it won’t just be a store: it’s going to be a six storey Mouret powerhouse in Carlos Place, at the heart of Mayfair, a stone’s throw from Lanvin, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, and power lunch haven Scott’s.
All this has been made possible by 19RM’s acquisition of the rights to use the Roland Mouret trademark from his previous backer.
Mouret comments: “My partnership with Simon Fuller is unique, he has allowed me to develop a business whilst ensuring I always had enough space and resources to follow my intuition and establish the company. Acquiring the trademark was always part of our plan. The future is very exciting”.
The building in Carlos Place, opposite the Connaught Hotel, will include two floors of retail, housing the brand’s complete womenswear and menswear collections, Mouret’s atelier, design workshops, studios and a sales showroom.
