From my experience over my recent four day stay:

Most genius: Ever thoughtful Wardrobe Slave brought me bright pink nail varnish – and remover, so I could paint my nails when catatonic with boredom.

Most appreciated: Darling Kiki & Tim went to Le Pain Quotidien and brought me a scrumptious tarte aux fraises and two of the most ENORMOUS baguette sandwiches, so I cld have one for supper and one for breakfast the next day (NHS breakfast is two slices of wholemeal bread & marge or cereal & skimmed milk. Not my thing), plus the Sunday papers.

Most helpful: Wardrobe Slave insisted on driving lil’sis (who isn’t well herself) to Camden to pick up a UK SIM card & phone credit, Stieg Larssons’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy and some M&S knickers.

Most restorative: Lil’sis and Wardrobe Slave bringing Zelda and Posetta Baddog to the entrance so I could shuffle downstairs for some dog petting. Yay.

I do love my lovely friends.

Brilliant advice for any hospital stay! I am glad you have such solicitous people around you. But that doesn’t happen by accident. You reap what you sow. 🙂

I love, love, love your blog. I am living vicariously through it on so many levels. You’re in London (albeit you were there because you were sick :() and London is, next to NY, my favorite place in the world.

You live a clearly fabulous, glamorous globe hopping life, while I am a dumpy granny living in New Jersey.

Unfortunately, as I’ve read your back posts I have also discovered your sister, as I do, has MS. F**k. I am so sorry.

I am also sorry that despite or because of your fabulous, glamorous globe hopping life, you have been terribly ill. Although I am glad you are getting better.

Best of all, you are funny and sound like a lovely, down to earth person despite your fabulous you know the rest, so it is a delight to read your blog!

Thanks!
