So that’s it: I’m heading back to America on Tuesday, & then the Dominican Republic on Thursday for a long weekend. My departure date has crept up on me and suddenly I am in London, rushing around like a headless chicken trying to see as many friends as I can fit in over a 36hr period. I’m feeling a weight of enormous guilt: there are some people I haven’t seen at all this trip — The Barrister & Hazel, Nick RB & J, Livvie & her not-new-any-more babe…and then there are the people I’ve just flashed by…if anyone has seen me more than once, then they are the favoured few.
Basically, if I wasn’t doing fashion weeks, I’ve either been at my mother’s in the country dealing with stuff, or in London for just two days each week, taking back to back meetings in the day, and then spending the evenings on the sofa with lil’sis, both wrapped in fleecy blankets, with Posetta between us, & American Idol on the telly.
So, after a morning of frantic calling yesterday, I’ve managed to cobble together a schedule of sorts, to fit in the people I’ve missed so far. I won’t be seeing Nick as he informed me that whilst he was gutted to miss me, it didn’t matter as they had booked to come to NY at the end of June.
‘How lovely!’, I squealed. ‘Where are you staying?’.
‘With you’, he replied.
It’s no wonder I am crap at making arrangements: my oldest friends are just as crap. (If delightful.)
