Haha love it, even teen years ago you had great style!!
xx
serait véritablement stupéfiant s’ils étaient la même paire de lunettes!
what’s that big yellow thing in the english sky?
@george: nah I left the first pair on a flight to Paris en route to Delhi a few years later when I did my GAP year before uni. I remember because they were one of the only cool things I owned back in the days before every 9 yr old had a Tiffany key ring…generally I scatter my possessions to the four corners of the earth. I think of it as re-distribution. (I’ve already lost the second pair somewhere in London last September.) LLGxx
ps to you & the Twitter doubters, it doesn’t rain EVERY day in England.
Timeless style.
Gorgeous then — gorgeous now. xx
I still carry my 10 year old Uniqlo bag around! As for sunglasses I lose them :S
You haven’t changed a bit! Raybans are classics — I’ve never worn anything else…
Wayfarers are timeless, in 1980 I stole my Dad’s circa 1965 pair and of course promptly lost them…now one of the luxuries of being “a woman of a certain age” is one pair in the car, one in the desk and one in my handbag!
Wow, Doncaster looked balmy back in the day!
Great style always! Love the Wayfarers on you!
Sunny swimming pool in Doncaster…that’s a real memory to treasure!
I love these — put a huge smile on my face!
so, so beautiful. x shayma
Classic fantastic sunnies to keep forever — that’s if you don’t lose them!
The sunglasses look the same and so do you!
x
The sun looks brighter in Doncaster than in California. . Rare occurence!
Coincidence, I was also in Doncaster in 1990, am in California today. You’re not FROM Doncaster, surely?
Doncaster? 1990? We could have been neighbours! That’s the year I left school. I remember it well. I discovered the Body Shop in Donny and thought I was well cool wafting around town stinking of Dewberry and Coconut Shampoo, with a bit of Lou Lou for good measure. I never had Ray Bans, but my Dad did and he wouldn’t part with them. I never had a swimming pool either, but I did have a pony… I see the perm trend evaded you, sadly I succumbed.
Many years ago, I planned to use a pair of Wayfarer frames as my regular spectacle frames– they really are a classic shape, and miraculously suit my dinner-plate face too. The above photographs just make me want a pair more than ever now…
Rayban wayfarers — a statements of the 90s and back with us now. Do you remember Tom Cruise in Risky Business? — I did a blog post with a pic of him not so long ago 24 March under the title of ‘Spring’
raybans were, and always will be timeless!
; ) Funny, a model friend yesterday was wearing the same Ray Bans — me, too — and I told her mine were vintage, i.e., I’ve had them since the late 80s. I might have had a break in the late 90s when I wore my big Chanel tortoise pair but once i lost them @ Miami airport I went back to the Ray Bans.
Wish I still had my black Vuarnets, tho! No idea where they went. Anyone ever heard of that brand?
Hope you’re enjoying this gorgeous London sunshine.

This is a HUGE stretch but a friend from Doncaster dated a Sasha in ’95. She had a sportscar and was crazy and gorgeous (his description).
Not you wuzzit??
I love this! You look every bit as fabulous (if not more so!) as you did 20 years ago. Also, I love that this post is alike an “in your face” to all the people who try to ascribe some street cred to themselves by claiming, “I used to wear such-and-such several years ago, before anyone else did.”
Hi! I run a blog that displays pictures of people wearing Wayfarers, and I was just wondering if I could use your photo?
Thanks for your time!
Love em so!
I had mine in late 80’s when I was a v young mummy, now they are battered a bit round the edges and my son is 24!
Style really does transcend fashion.
Can’t believe how little you’ve changed over the years?!!! unlike me.
*sighs*
I’m battered round the edges now too love. lol Jx
