Burberry Prorsum. I’m afraid I’m not being very original here but I covet the entire collection, especially the shearling aviator coats. Christopher Bailey is a genius.
My favorite was Mulbery! I loved the rich color palette and the textures in their line. They had some really wonderful tailored jackets that were to die for too! And who doesn’t love the glittery lions on the runway as well as adding some pups in to the mix!
Christopher Kane — it put a smile on my face
I’m going to have to say ditto on Westwood.
Mark Fast first and formost. The knitwear is divine and I’m loving it even more when it is shown on curves not corners!
Wow, LLG, you’re generous!
For the favourite LFW show, I’d say that my vote goes to Erdem — I loved his use of colors, prints, his dresses and coats. I loved girlishness, femininity and in the same time quirkiness and fun of his clothes. He made me want to waer dresses again!
I first fell in love with PPQ when I snagged a funky yet clean cut strappy dress of theirs off ebay for my 18th birthday party. That dress since then has been worn with chunky tights and shoes, flip flops and even a vey 80’s blue vizor one year at Wimbledon. Their collections are the exact definition of eccentric edginess teamed with complete wearability. Not only that but miraculously they always seem to emulate my style mood of the moment whilst adding that touch of inspiration I need to take it that little bit further and complete my look. Their 2010 Autumn/Winter collection does not disappoint! You guessed it, my 2010 trend is all about black and gold, whether I’m rocking 80’s style ghetto gold bling with that sleek black outfit or if it’s my Pixie Lott gold sequin knickers (that were purchased way before Pixie was on the scene!) PPQ’s collection almost has a lapdancer-esque feel to it with enough sophistication for it not to seem tacky. There’s those bow shoes for example which will connect Drag Queens and fashionista’s alike and who couldn’t fall in love with that fringing reminiscent of Pocahontas. Their gold creations are stand out pieces that enable you to work your look around them and making the rest of your outfit effortless. Four words.…they’ve done it again!
I would have to say AMANDA WAKELEY (with A. McQueen sadly gone and Burberry Prorsum being a favorite of mine but so it for so many other people).
The dresses looked so light and yet still structured, and the oversized fur collars worn as coats were just gorgeous. It felt like you could just walk off the catwalk with these pieces. Thanks for this giveaway too, it’s very generous of you!!
xx
I thought I sent a comment but I don’t see it — anyway I said Emma Cook because her collection looks like a fairytale.
And thanks for the the giveaway and the fashion weeks chronicles!
For me it was a tie between Mary Katrantzou and Topshop Unique.
I am absolutely loving what Mary Katrantzou is doing — I would wear every single dress she sent out, which looked like they were made with real women in mind. Her prints were breathtaking, and reminiscent of McQueen (bless him).
Topshop Unique is often fun but rarely one of my favourites. But I felt like it gave me some much needed inspiration to get through these last months of winter (when all I want to wear is frothy spring looks) and suddenly I feel like wearing grey knitted socks, donning a pair or deer antlers, and sitting around a camp fire.
P.S. LLG — I’ve been reading your blog since I moved to London a year ago and was searching for something to make me feel more ‘at home’ here. You’ve been one of my favourites ever since, and I feel like I somehow ‘know’ you a bit more since the Grazia reveal. Please don’t change now that we know who you are though! I love your miscellaneous musings about anything and everything just the way they are xxx

P.P.S. (LLG I hope you don’t mind me replying to other comments on here — if so feel free to delete) to those who are writing about the absence of McQueen at LFW, he shows in Paris rather than London and as such his show is still likely to go ahead at that fashion week.

I also vote for Burberry Prorsum. I just love everything about the new collection!
I loved the work on show at Krystof Strozyna, flattering, feminine yet with the appearance of structure through the beautiful prints; everything a girl needs! x
I loved the Mulberry collection, it was pretty much the only collection in which I could see myself actually wearing the clothes!
Wow, what an amazing prize!
I love love loved Eley Kishimoto’s collection — one word to sum it up for me would be FUN. I loved the colours, the big bold prints; there seemed to be humour and excitement in their clothes which I think is often lacking at fashion week. I would buy it all!
Can I please have absolutely everything from Orla Kiely? I love the colours, the patterns and the retro feel. Why stop at the clothes?
Roksanda Ilincic — her best collection to date. The kind of clothes I would design if I had the flair!
I am absolutely in awe of the Burberry Collection of coats and boots. The coats look beautifully luxe and tailored, while providing an interesting balance of tough-girl and pretty (like a good rocker girl I’d pair everything with studded boots or Doc Martens). I love the subtle familiarity of the clothes without the unfortunate side-effect of a walking billboard advert for the brand.
It has to be Mary Katrantzou. Her opulent prints, drapes, tailoring and little details have won me over. But I might be prejudiced since she’s Greek too!
LLG! Love your new home! Congrats on your big reveal too:) Favorite London show… hands down Erdem. Love that he took his feminine girl in a slightly new direction… nothing quite as perfect as it had been. Plus — being a Canadian girl myself — I can always appreciate some well done outerwear. The parka was perfection especially when paired with such prettiness! Lastly — the shoes. Anyone that can make a hiking boot so pretty is my friend. Plus i could picture myself pairing these with everything and anything next fall. (Did you know all his boots were done by Nicholas Kirkwood???) Need some of those! That’s it — hope you’ve recovered from LFW. xx
I love Orla Kiely — everything she does is so whimsical and romantic.
Love Aquascutum…very Calvin Klein meets Carolina Herrera by way of Savile Row. COATS!!! Gah!!!
Gosh what a generous giveaway! I’d have to say that my favourite designer is Vivienne Westwood, mainly because she’s fab and so eccentrically English (even a bit bonkers)…also she’s the only designer who I actually own anything by, admittedly it’s an Anglomania dress so not as snaz as Red label, but for someone who often feels frumpy (and podge) it makes me feel amazing, so I take my hat off to her!

John Rocha was a really pleasant suprise for me! I must admit that previously I had only really credited him as being a designer for Debenhams but I am so glad I watched his show streamed live on the LFW website!
I loved the chic kneeless tights under floaty dresses and raw hemlines (like last season at Jil Sander and Prada) and he continued the trend for unfinished looks, especially with the striking leathers.
There was a clear effort to play with different structures and the array of textures and materials were incredible. Many of the coats and gowns were pannelled, adorned with lace and glitter primarily and others were sheer in places.
Rocha created some unsual bubble knits which I thought were great and his pallette of blacks, browns, nudes and creams are a welcome contrast to the pretty pastel and Sorbet shades of this Spring/Summer. The dramatic tiered styles were striking and I am always partial to some stud details as they give garments that rock’n’roll edge which is a style I tend to prefer.
Moving on to the later part of the show the collection appeared influenced by the gothic victorian era with beautiful ruffled necklines and delicate evening dresses which instantly reminded me of vintage Christian Dior night gowns (they pop up on Ebay every now and then). There was a lovely little cream tea dress and a handful of classic tailored pieces on offer. The styling again seemed subtly equestrian (not unlike Topshop Unique and Daks) and I loved that the men were wearing bowler hats and the women flamboyant high head pieces.
The collection was a mixture of Victorian gothic, equestrian and simple sophistication and is a perfect balance of avant garde and wearable pieces. On the LFW website John Rocha said of aspirations for his designs ‘I think perhaps my style is more about exploring a sense of beauty in silouhette and surface and texture’ which seems to perfectly some up his latest offerings.
So needless to say I was really excited to see more of John Rocha than I had previously been aware of and he actually seems to be a designer that is not talked about nearly enough! I cannot wait to see more from him.
Thanks
Chloe

Burberry Prorsum, Without any doubt. I read they had the biggest audience this year.
I loved their buckled boots with sheeps skin inside. Very sophisticated tailoring. Feminine yet masculine at the same time. LOVE. LOVE. WOULD LOVE TO HAVE IT.
So tempting! Well, I love Hussein Chalayan becouse you can be 16 or 61 and still find something to wear and feel very feminine and mysterious. And when yours 16 are long away, after an horrible day, you need to feel feminine and glamorous in a simple to wear dress. (Easy to carry in a voyage too). I just love him.
I loved PPQ the black and gold dresses were stunning. This was a hard choice though as Mulberry had another good collection. I loved the black dress.By the way I think you are so lucky. it would be my dream to one day be at fashion week
Although a trifle obvious, I loved Burberry Prorsum. The shearling aviator jackets were to die for, and I loved the jewel tones that popped out of the rather neutral palette — royal blue, cerise, chartreuse. Yum!
Why aren’t you keeping these again? Oh wait, because you are amazing!
My favourite British designer is Vivienne Westwood and I love it because she has the loyalty to continue showing at London Fashion Week, and some serious London attitude to boot. xxxx
Hello LLG! very generous giveaway you have on here ‐ thankyou! I adored so many collections from lfw, it’s difficult to pick a favourite but one of my favourites just had to be Christopher Kane. The collection made me feel full of energy for some reason and I adore intense contrasts, which in this case were the embroidered flowers teamed with pvc leather. Wouldn’t mind a pair of those shoes either!
Well, I love LFW because it is usually more experimental than New York, so I really liked many of the presentations, but I’ll give my two cents here for Boudicca because I was a medieval history major, love that they are partners in work and life, admire their aesthetic, and am happy they have managed to stay in business! Plus I regret not snaffling a bottle of their Woad perfume because I love how the concept followed through with the history of their namesake.
My favourite show was Hannah Marshall becausse blah blah blah just give me the free gifts TTYL Xxxxxxx
Topshop Unique!
While I am studying and struggling in this awesomely fashionable city — yay London — the answer must be Top Shop.
For a while, this is the closest I will get to LFW fashion, and it truly is AWESOME. Awesome, and obtainable.
Best wishes,
xJo
Burberry Prorsum! I’m dying for one of the jackets!
It has to be Vivienne Westwood for me, for many reasons. She one extraordinary woman, with a back catalogue that has influenced history more than most designers can even hope for. I can honestly look right back to her early collections, like buffalo girl, and find something to love every time, right up to the present AW10 collection. She’s touched on all the things I love at some time or other, from Alice in Wonderland, to African prints… it’s all there. She has tried her hand at every type of clothing imaginable, and has produced clothing that can be worn by any women, however old, whatever style.
My favourite thing about the AW10 collection: The slight Mad Hatter vibes… as an Alice in Wonderland addict that really made my LFW.
Eun Jeong took my breath away. The show was beautiful in both strength and subtlety, classic tailoring and truly magnificent innovation. Eun is in a class all her own and will hopefully bring the attention to LFW that it truly deserves.
Ooh it was so hard to choose between Christopher Kane LOVE the embroidery especially the wisteria, and Westwood, especially those louche striped pants. I have to go with Vivienne.
Hey LLG! I think Christopher Kane is wonderful because he tries to redefine what we think is beautiful with every collection, even if he always sticks to his short dress formula. It was very bold of him to put colorful flower embroidery over PVC and black leather. It’s a combination that might make people cringe, but I thought it was inventive to take something as delicate and girly as flowers to give ‘tough’ materials like PVC and leather a softer, less threatening look.
Mark Fast.
Not only is the details of the knitwear amazing but it’s great to see the clothes on bodies I can identify with. I can picture myself in his fantastic clothes and it makes them stand out even more to me. It makes me remeber them.
Hakaan knocked it out of the park.I loved the detailing on the dresses — and the visual of the fabric that almost begged to be touched. And the cigarette skinny trousers. And the sheer, sheer bodies. And the coats.… OH, the coats.…
i thought the Burberry Prorsum collection was TO DIE FOR. all those gorgeous coats and jackets. And often in very muted tones that are perfect for the canadian winter (where i reside). Also, purchasing a coat is way more sensible than say…another VW cocktail dress in these times of economic decline.
I love Mulberry cos their designs look wearable and not too radical for me
Burberry Prorsum. I loved the urban warrior style (snakeskin boots; shearling jackets; khaki and navy blue as dominant colors) combined with feminine silk dresses. It was a great example of a collection that is chic and very fashion-forward yet wearable.
Hi there
Oh, how I loved the beautiful collection from Pringle of Scotland —- what I wouldn’t give to have a closet full of the lovely knit dresses and sequinned peachy shorts and tops:) And of course, seing the fab Tilda Swinton (or SWINTON as us fans like to call her;) looking absolutely stunning in the clothes just makes me want it even more:)
A big thanks for a lovely blog that I check out very often:)
Greeting from Denmark!
Pernilla
Betty Jackson herself is a chic inspiration to women of all ages, and her clothes suit more realistic body shapes than those of many others. She cites her favourite place in London as the V&A, so that can’t be bad either!
Vivienne Westwood — I loved her coats and her classic tartan fabrics that never get older. Her designs are edgy and colorful. I also liked the striped suits.
My favourite show has to be Issa London. The show was amazing in itself with the air plane theme from London to New York, even though I watched the show via stream I really felt like I was there.
From harsh blacks to elegant draping and colours ranging from orange, khaki to camel, I loved the fusion of the styles with block colour patterns in lilac, brown and tan. You could see the constant emphasis on the waist with belts and draping to accentuate this. Issa showed the new take on the one shoulder with asymmetric detailing and beaded embellished jackets. On one dress hem was the skyline on NY in lace.
Ultimately, Issa showed the beautiful mix of two culturally driven cities in a unique and elegant way, so this is why Issa London was my favourite show of London Fashion Week…
Thanks! x
I was trawling through all the collections desperately trying to find a favourite because I’d so love to win your goody bag, only to find I’m getting incredibly picky in my old age! There was only really the odd piece I liked. The colours Louise Goldin used really jumped out at me but her daft little boobie-leakage pads put me off the dresses! I liked Madame Weswood’s cute polka dot dress, but the woman does like to encourage nipple-flash risks! Maybe she could borrow some of Louise Goldin’s pads? I was drawn to look at Coöperative Designs because that’s a nice “right-on” “green” sounding name, but my god their clothes are heinous! What’s with that voluminous black and white bushy head ornament? I’m sure I’ve seen it before in my Birds of the Tropics book! Now I did like the Pringle of Scotland stuff. It all screamed of quality and craftsmanship. I could seriously see me wearing some of those pieces season after season. But you’d think they could have washed their models’ hair? Poor girls looked ever so bedraggled. Roksanda Illincics clothes were rather beautiful. Flattering cuts, luxurious floaty fabrics in heavenly colours. But I reckon her show must have been straight after Pringles and the assistants were all still out shopping for pantene!
The other thing I kept noticing was the almost copybook answer from all the designers to the question about what type of woman would wear their clothes. Amidst all their talk of adventurous, cosmopolitan go-getting women I dearly wanted someone to say their type of client would probably trip over her own feet, emerge from the ladies with her skirt in her pants and then smile to reveal fresh basil on her pearly whites! Now that’s the type of honesty I’d pay for!
So I don’t actually have a favourite but can I still enter? Even though I’ve discovered I am a fussy old git, I would still mightily appreciate a sack full of freebies!
Mwah darling. xxx
My favourite has to be Burberry, I didn’t get an invite but got to watch the live stream online. Everything was just as perfect as I had hoped. The massive shearling jackets, the rich purple knotted dresses, the thigh high boots, the khaki greens, the military jackets with their big brass gold buttons, the bright blue military style trench, the vast amount of leather, the faux fur, the sinny belts over the top of jackets, big fluffy collars.…heck I even wanted to wear the menswear.…It was A-MAZ-ING.
It also had one of the best front rows. Utterly amazing.
Love Jojo
xx
mulberry, hands down ~ the colors *oohhh* ~ the shapes *aahhh* ~ so pretty for spring!!!
