New trend: the cream tuxedo jacket

January 21, 2010 · 5 comments

My hot tip for next season is the cream or ivory tux. I picked mine up for a jaw dropping £40, reduced from £310 from the Theory store at Bicester Village last month, so feel quite pleased with myself.

Otherwise Net a Porter has a great selection. There’s Diane von Furstenberg’s cream satin-trimmed wool-blend version for £380 ($425 in the US)

and Chloé’s cream silk-blend twill jacket with a transparent crystal-embellished lapels and bold structured shoulders for £1458 ($2500 in the US)

Topshop have an 80s inspired shawl collar tux jacket for £65 ($135 in the US)

This isn’t a tux, but for a more lightweight riff on the cream jacket, I really love Isabella Oliver 365’s ivory crêpe de chine jacket, which is an amazing £74.50 in their sale.

That’s really cool. I’m really liking this cream tux business. Think I’ll have a look at Topshop…thx for the great fashion tip!

Am loving the cream tux look, I am thinking of those iconic photographs of Bianca Jagger’s Marriage to Mick, wearing a white/cream jacket, with nothing underneath and that amazing hat.

I have been thinking the same thing and looking around a bit lately — ASOS also has a creamy silk one that looks lovely.

I love the light color. As well, I have always loved a white “tuxedo” suit. These are beautiful picks.
